Grand-Métis, May 1, 2023 – Les Jardins de Métis is launching a new publication that highlights the horticultural achievements and unique plant collections of Elsie Reford.
Dans les Jardins de Métis À la Rencontre d’Elsie Reford is a sumptuous book of 320 pages beautifully illustrated with photographs by Louise Tanguay. Author Alexander Reford explores the life of his great grandmother Elsie Reford and her efforts over more than three decades to create a horticultural paradise on the shores of the St. Lawrence River in eastern Québec. The hardcover book is also richly illustrated with photographs from the gardens’ unique archive of historic images.
This is the author’s the fourth collaboration with Les Éditions de L’Homme. Previous titles are Elsie’s Paradise (2004), Treasures of the Reford Gardens (2006) and a guidebook to Les Jardins de Métis. Dans les Jardins de Métis À la Rencontre d’Elsie Reford is the Gardens’ 29th publication.
Les Jardins de Métis and Les Éditions Umanium published Elsie Reford 150 Objects of Passion earlier this year.
