The Mitis River Park and the Reford Gardens invites everyone to the end of summer cleaning of the St. Lawrence shoreline on Saturday, August 29. Everyone is welcome! Three riverside municipalities of La Mitis (Sainte-Flavie, Grand-Métis and Métis-sur-Mer) are participating in this community activity and invite their residents to participate. This is a great opportunity to show how our community can work to protect, preserve and celebrate the St. Lawrence. This is the second of two shoreline cleanups held this year. All volunteers are invited to meet at the Reford Gardens parking at 9 am and 1 pm. Work gloves and all necessary equipment will be provided to participants. We suggest you wear boots and appropriate work clothes. Teams of volunteers will clean four sites: the Mitis Bay in front of the Mitis River Park, the mouth of the Mitis River in front of Reford Gardens, the beaches of Sainte-Flavie and the beaches of Métis-sur-Mer. A free lunch will be provided to all participants at the café at the Reford Gardens. The departure for the afternoon cleanup will be at 1 pm from the parking lot at the Reford Gardens. The Mitis River Park wishes to thank the sponsors of this community chore: Centre de rénovation de la Mitis,Éco-centre de la Mitis and Arseno Matane. Together we will create a healthy environment!
